What this index is for

The Malawian Salary Index is a community project to help people understand reported pay and prepare for salary conversations. Figures are individual reports, not a representative survey, verified market rate, job offer or guarantee of what a role should pay. Compare the currency, pay period, deductions and context before using a figure.

Share responsibly

Submit honest figures and describe whether the salary is your own, someone you know, or public information. Do not fabricate a report or claim that you have already contributed when you have not. Do not place names, contact details or other identifying information in the public fields. Only share information you are allowed to share.

You may enter an employer name in the optional private field. We do not show employer names in the public index unless the employer wants to be shown.

How contributions are used

By submitting a report, you allow the index to display and use its non-private details for this community resource. New reports are reviewed before they appear to other visitors. You can delete your own report at any time with the removal code you receive when you submit it. We may generalise a sector, correct, hide or remove a report if it appears inaccurate, identifying or unsuitable for the index.

Company reviews

Only review a company you know through work, and answer honestly. Company reviews are multiple-choice and anonymous; we do not verify employment or guarantee that each review comes from a different person. We moderate submissions and may flag, remove or decline reviews that appear spammy, inaccurate or unsuitable. A company can appear in the directory after its first approved review, but aggregated ratings are hidden until five reviews are approved unless an admin publishes them earlier. Each question shows its own answer count because reviewers can choose “Not sure,” and older reviews did not contain every question. Reviews are separate from the private employer name in a salary report. If you need a review corrected or removed, contact us below with the company name and approximate submission date.

Access

Sharing a genuine report opens the full index without a fee or account. Your ability to return does not expire. The browser access cookie lasts up to one year; if it expires or is lost, use the “I already submitted” option honestly to restore access.
